The Northfield Initiative is a student run organization designed to increase voter turnout in the city of Northfield. By presenting objective, nonpartisan information regarding both the methods of voter participation and the candidates themselves, we aim to encourage all eligible voters to engage in democracy.
Who are we?
Nick Cohen, President, Founder
Nick is a Political Science major and a European Studies concentrator at Carleton College (’18). Originally from Minneapolis, he enjoys talking politics, cooking, and reading history. Outside of the Northfield Initiative, he spends his time writing articles for the Carletonian and the Carleton Business Review. His post-Carleton plans include graduate school in either Public Policy or European Studies.
Luke Curtis, Community Outreach Director
Luke is a Political Science major and German concentration at Carleton College (’17). A proud Wisconsinite, Luke loves to discuss sports, politics, sociology, the meaning of life, and pop culture. In addition to contributing to the Northfield Initiative, he also plays baseball and is a student DJ at Carleton’s student-run radio station. Luke plans to attend law school and hopes to continue in political endeavors.
